A very arty and surprisingly dramatic and picturesque foreign title, this stars handsome brunet Martin Kolin as a guy who comes home to his lover and drops a champagne bottle that shatters on the floor when he sees his boyfriend sucking face with some trick. The innovative director uses lots of camera tricks including fast motion for mood-setting traffic scenes, and slow motion and black-and-white shots for quick flashbacks (which thankfully are few). The settings are elaborate, with long shots of Martin coming off the plane on a landing strip, guys meeting in a pool and lots of city shots. The sex is well-lit and clear, with shots underneath that show every lick and penetration. There’s a particularly good group scene when two guys working out in a gym are joined by three studs swimming around in tight trunks in a pool. Their safe sex is choreographed like synchronized swimming — two suckers each being fucked in perfect pyramid formation. This is a potential nominee for Best Foreign Release.

Take a successful adult film producer, his adoring wife, his jailbair, hookey-playing mistress and her shamed and angry boyfriend, toss in liveral amounts of Chinese philosophy… and with sex, you get eggroll!

The producer's side dish shows up on his doorstep and moves in. Honorable wife decides she better give hubby a little fuckee so he's not tempted. The sex scene that follows is as limp as a wonton: one perfunctory blowjob, no dick sliding in and out, no money shot. The young chick threatens to get the couple in trouble unless they comply with her demands. (Chinese laws are strict.) Boyfriend shows up. Young girl boffs boyfriend to shut him up – boyfriend dribbles. That's the sex, and we're not even halfway through the tape!

The rest of the plot revolves around the girl "finding herself." The final scene has wife and girlfriend fighting over the producer; they tear each other's clothes off, which is mildly erotic. I won't tell you who wins, I don't think you'd care. With its poor dubbing ("You owe me a favorite") and sitcom plot, Love Story needs more love and less story. It rates an extra A for uniqueness.
