Featuring one of the prettiest, all-star female casts ever assembled, and the best collection of girl/girl erotic scenes shot on film this year, Lethal Affairs is an expensive, well-made sex thriller in fabulous packaging that should ring up big sales and rentals for retailers.
Artistically, the sex is better than the story, a muddled, dialogue-heavy, almost-impossible-to-follow saga, that, for half an hour, looks a lot like the mainstream Usual Suspects, with nighttime scenes also shot at San Pedro Harbor. All I can say is it involves stolen plutonium, double-dealing and the U.S. Government.
Sexually, though, if your customers crave girl/girl scenes, note the ever-beautiful Felecia, clad in leather, spanking an oiled-up Janine and fingering her ass, before they exchange pussy munches. Janine looks as gorgeous as ever, sharing a double-dildo with the equally Chasey Lain. Busy as usual, Janine also takes on Sahara Sands in yet another stunning lesbian sequence.
Also noteworthy is the petite and adorable Kobe Tai, Vivid's new Asian find, and her raucous scene with Marc Davis…she's a star in the making. Chasey bangs Bobby Vitale, and an excellent anal scene finds Missy taking on Mickey and Michael J. Cox on a boat.
The film looks good, and both Janine and Sahara Sands turn in stellar acting performances. But Steven St. Croix, usually one of the industry's best male actors, grinds the film to a halt every time he opens his mouth. He's so laid back that he's almost catatonic, slowing up the screenplay that's confusing to begin with.
Finally, credit goes to Toni English, quickly becoming one of the best film directors in adult. In most cases, she balances hot sex and excellent production values with acting and plot. Better care to the storyline would have helped immensely.
