Billed as Ashlyn Gere's "final film" (if she makes another, will they call it her "comeback?"), Internal Affairs is a gritty, ambitious fuck melodrama about a crooked vice cop (Gere) and an honest cop (Jon Dough) who desperately wants to nail her, both physically and figuratively. Gere gives a precise, riveting performance, and her four sex scenes sizzle with the spark of professionalism, especially a wild three-way where she squats on Dough's cock as Dough fingerbangs chesty blonde Brittany Andrews. Regrettably, Chasey Lain just seems to be along for the ride (her opening lesbo-licking with Gere is shamefully short), and the plot becomes more convoluted instead of cohesive as the somewhat strained drama wears on.
