S.M.U.T. mixes the casual repartee of a gonzo with the stylish couples-friendly porn familiar from PickUp Lines. Not that the sex is homogenized: The first two scenes feature a backwards piledriver delivered on Claudia Chase by Billy Glide, and Jessica Darlin getting her back 40 plowed by Sean Michaels.
All six scenes have outstanding camerawork by Barry Wood—many outdoors under natural sunlight—and stylish editing by Sidney Michaels under the leadership of director Dion Giarrusso. Giarusso has the assurance to spend half of Chloe’s scene (with John Decker) zeroed in on her expressive face, a nervy gamble that pays off big time. The scenes all start with a quick casual chat with the woman in the scene, with double-exposures and every editing trick in the book. The scenes themselves are straightforward, with props and costumes used for visual texture.
Pre-noms: Wood for videography, Michaels for editing, Giarrusso for direction, Chloe and Decker for Couples Scene – Video.
