If the Emperor is going to hang his ass out in public, it becomes our obligation to advise him of the fact that his apparel is missing. With Sexual Society, Matt Zane reaps both the glory and the slings 'n' arrows of misfortune to star in a release entirely dedicated to nothing less than Matt Zane, filmmaker, musical artiste and sometime-stud.

Truth be told, Zane delivers on his promise. The big "but" -- as well as the Big Butt -- rears its hairy ass in the opening scene with Holli Woods and Ron Jeremy, who is even past his prime as a novelty item. Watching them writhe on the studio floor, enclosed behind a glass panel, makes us think of a zoo exhibit more than a hot sexual encounter.

On a creative scale, Sexual Society, regardless of its abject narcissism, has the requisite gonzo energy. Although presented as a documentary, Spinal Tap was clearly the model of inspiration. Zane's cosmic hubris could very well be his version of ripe satire -- we're not sure. That's the scary part.
