Reviews

Four one-on-one scenes with integrated music in the opening teases and stylized lighting throughout.

Kazumi struts through a blue-lit parking structure in strappy lingerie, the demi-bra cup straps held together with an O-ring right over the nipple, fixing the camera with an unblinking stare as it examines her. She meets Seth Gamble, dressed in a shiny sharkskin suit, in a high rise apartment with floor-to-ceiling windows. They eye each other in the blue light of the nighttime city below them. Gamble plays rough with her, slapping her face, gently, and her breast, not-so-gently, until she mollifies him by kneeling down and opening his pants, sucking and stroking and keeping a wary eye contact as the lighting shifts from blue to a warm yellow-orange. The scene unfolds with Kazumi and Gamble working intimately together, aware of the camera but not playing to it, encouragingly murmuring to each other and letting the camera catch the action and the background city lights.

In "Nightshade," Kendra Sunderland steps through a backyard garden at night to the sound of dreamy music, looking bewitching in a diaphanous negligee, followed by Gamble. When they step inside and meet, she gives him an ambiguously lustful look: is she asleep and dreaming? The soundtrack voices singing "I wanna lose myself in you" leave it open to interpretation, even after the music stops and the sounds of reality intervene.

"Rapture" starts with Tru Kait worshipfully looking at candles burning in a wrought-iron holder in a dark room with a pipe organ in the background (a church?) as the voices sing, "I wanna be ho-ly," but the tight black velvet corset over her short dress and the lustful look she gives the camera belie the spiritual intentions on the soundtrack. When Gamble enters the scene, the transition to carnality begins, in a scene that escalates into standing doggie and Kait telling Gamble "Slap my ass, just like that!" and leading to an oral finish and Kait saying, "Thanks for fucking me so good and making me cum a lot."

The closer, "Void," starts with Ivy Wolfe looking very Kali-esque in a jeweled bikini and diadem (but the standard two arms instead of Kali's 10), undulating in shimmering underwater-looking blue light. When Gamble enters, the background goes reddish but he and Wolfe stay lit in blue until they begin to hook up and the red light from one side and blue light from another stylistically illuminate the action as it continues.

Stylized and sexy, Obscura is an aesthetic step forward from the get-in-get-out wham-bam-thank-you-ma'am dynamic of many wall-to-wall vids, but without shortchanging the sex. Worth checking out.
