Reviews

The ethereal Elena Koshka stars in this dreamlike production.

The vid starts with a ritual, with Koshka before a mirror whispering incantations while cleansing parts of her nude body. She creeps into Manuel Ferrara's bed and wraps her arm around him in the blue late-night light. When he pushes her arm away, she backs off and dreams of herself in lingerie, waking up on a stack of mattresses and finding a pomegranate tucked in low on the stack, wrapped in a paper with FREE LOVE written on it. She runs downstairs and confronts Ferrara with an image on an iPhone, and he plays keep-away with the pomegranate as she grabs for it, whispering "Give it back" in voiceover, until he pushes her down on a bed and gets on top of her. The scene is intercut between day and night shots, with different clothing, and a backlit shot of Koshka dancing.

And that's just the opening.

The sex scene that follows is more straightforward, with Koshka and Ferrara in a brightly-lit night romp, ending with Ferrara checking his phone and rolling over and going to sleep—and Koshka surveying him as the lighting switches back to nighttime blue and the viewer wonders how much of what came before actually happened and how much was Koshka's imagination. When Ferrara's phone pings, she picks it up and scrolls through pictures of a woman's hand holding a pomegranate before huffing off.

What follows is a dreamlike progression of images. Ferrara teases Koshka with the pomegranate, then tosses it to another woman, lustily kissing her while looking at Koshka. Koshka stabs the pomegranate with a small dagger, then lustily licks off the juice. Koshka kneels between Mick Blue and Ryan Driller, double sucking them with an eye on Ferrara until he walks away with a frown, and she looks momentarily disappointed before turning her attention to things at hand. At scene's end, she surveys a broken pomegranate and tearfully watches where Ferrara walked off into the snow.

Koshka loads books into a box, and is stopped dead by a long forgotten love letter before continuing. She confronts Ferrara at night on a mountaintop, wafting smoke from a metal bowl at him with a feather, and suddenly Michael Vegas appears, horns on his forehead and swinging torches as the whispered incantations fill the soundtrack. A compass needle spins, the sun sets and then reverses itself back into the sky. Vegas is beckoned by Kylie Rocket and Sera Ryder in a brass bed on the sunlit mountaintop as Koshka walks away.

Koshka awakens on the stack of mattresses and steps outside to see Isiah Maxwell in turban and pareo at the same time she knocks on a contemporary door and is met by Maxwell, shirtless, in loose pants as she walks past him and takes a seat on a divan. The two Koshka/Maxwell scenes are intercut until they settle into the contemporary one, which concludes and then fades out without a final resolution.

Like a dream.

Tech credits first-rate, with AVN Awards nominations for cinematography, editing and soundtrack, plus a nomination for Best Gonzo/Cinemacore Movie or Limited Series for the whole production.
