Maddy May taps away on her laptop, writing a midterm essay for her English class, as stepdad Tommy Pistol mock-grouses, "I hope I'm not paying for that." When she confesses that she's having trouble focusing on her studies, he segues into, "I thought we weren't going to talk about this," and she allows that it's a drag, him being in the house and not being able to "have fun" with him ... as he eases her tank top down off her shoulders and she coquettishly asks, "Do you like my new piercings?"

Brad Newman is finishing up the dishes when Ava Sinclaire walks in, tosses her purse on the counter, and stomps out wordlessly as he follows her, asking, "How did the audition go?" When he follows up with, "It can't be that bad," she pouts, "They don’t think I'm cute enough. They wanted me to read for the dad's mistress." He tells her that she's too beautiful for the college-girl role, she's sophisticated. She's unconvinced—"Like a man your age would ever look at a girl my age?"—but she takes up the challenge, using it as rehearsal for seducing an older man.
