Reviews

Cadence Lux thinks she’s on her way to a fun event with new girlfriend Kira Noir. Instead, her mom (London River) is reluctantly dropping her off at a conversion therapy camp, ruled by Joanna Angel.

“In the state of Utah your parents can commit you if you are a threat to others,” says the tyrant-in-chief. “You are a threat to others' souls and to god’s law.”

Director-writer Whitney Wright takes on a big subject in a big way in her most ambitious feature yet. At 3.5 hours, it does have its slow moments, but the length allows each of the main characters to have her own story arc.

At the vortex is Angel, a religious hypocrite of the highest order, running what amounts to a private prison, who lusts for the young girls she’s trying to “save.” Joanna sinks her teeth into the role, making her one of the all-time great villains, mouthing religious platitudes before whipping out a foot-long dildo to use on petite Kenzie Reeves.

Cadence is touching as the 19-year-old victim who is betrayed by her feelings for Noir, who reappears briefly for sex. She finally conspires with a fellow inmate, cute trans Daisy Taylor, to find a way out.

There are five high-octane sex scenes, none hotter than the volcanic interaction of girl/girl icons Serena Blair and Scarlet Sage as two girls who just don’t take this shit seriously at all.
