Reviews

It's not being too presumptuous to say that hard, nasty sex is what the vast majority of porn consumers crave in adult fare. Pair it with physically beautiful performers and breath-taking, high-end production values (certainly not the norm for 99% of all hard-edged fare; most big budget story-oriented porn, on the other hand, softens up the sex) and what results is pretty damn pure porn bliss.

Arguably, no one has done a better job of creating that stellar, rarified-air brand of hard-yet-gorgeous adult product than AVN Award-winning Hall of Fame director Michael Ninn (Dark Garden, Shock, Latex, Sex, etc.). And with the vastly pre-nom worthy Fetish: The Dream Scape, he's done it again, though this time wearing the hat of producer. Ninn Worx is his relatively new production company, and for this effort he works with photographer Laurent Sky, who makes his directorial debut, in a professional marriage made in smut heaven.

Goddamn, this is one visually stunning stroke production!

Sky is a professional photographer by trade and it shows here big-time. Fetish: The Dream Scape is packed with highly stylized camerawork and images that thrill both the eye and the libido. Matching and complementing the videography is the superb editing. Words really can't convey how impressive the look of this production is, except to say that The Dream Scape is a fitting sub-title. Groundbreaking? Yeah, just maybe.

Matching and complementing the gorgeous production values is the gorgeous content - five scenes populated by some A-list names sporting top-flight fetish outfits on dazzling, futuristic sets. Despite the tape's title, however, don't expect any bondage, flogging or hot-wax action. This is a hardcore fuck tape, not a specialty production, dressed up in a pretty - make that very pretty - fetish package.

Space limitations prevent us from mentioning every scene, so let's just go to the highlight reel, shall we?

Fetish bowls us over from the get-go. The opener has gorgeous Nicole Sheridan playing with herself in some kind of sci-fi dentist-like chair in what resembles the H.R. Geiger-designed creatures lair in Aliens, while moody industrial-cum-techno-cum Enigma-influenced music obscures her moans, as it does throughout the tape (normally that's a porno no-no; here it works).

She then starts fucking herself with a dil on a stick, as Voodoo in a leather mask, and Jay Ashley in a fascist uniform, look on. After giving him some strong head, complete with spit and drool, Sheridan fucks Voodoo, opens her ass for his rod, flashes some gape, then takes his explosive ball-butter blasts to her luscious countenance.

Equally impressive is scene three featuring beautiful blonde Michelle Michaels, a simply stunning piece of eye candy. Bedecked in mouth-watering red PVC, she prances around some ultramodern doctor's office, touching herself provocatively (her tease alone is enough to get your customers off), then reams her pussy with a shiny metallic instrument. Soon thereafter, she and Eric Everhard go down on each other, spit in each other's faces and finally fuck, with Everhard throwing in a little choking action. The scene closes with him blowing in a condom in her cunt, then squeezing the funky stuff out onto her hot kisser.

And now for the pre-nom roll call: Best All-Sex Video, Best Director - Non-Feature, Best Videography (Barry Wood, Chris Hall), Best Editing (Nan Vega), Best Art Direction, Best Tease Performance (Michaels), Best Sex Scene Coupling (Sheridan and Voodoo), Best Music (Loren Alexander) and last but not least, Best Packaging. The box cover, featuring Sheridan, is absolutely gorgeous.

The DVD meanwhile, is a deluxe two-disc set. Disc one, entitled "Artcore," is the same as the VHS version. Disc two, entitled "Hardcore," isn't really any more hardcore than disc one, except it's sans the music, which allows us to hear the performers' moans and groans. Unfortunately, we also get to hear the director and crew loudly instructing the performers, which, for stroke purposes, is annoyingly distracting and porno illusion busting.
