Exploring the sexuality of married folks is decidedly in adult director Kay Brandt’s wheelhouse, as she’s proven in a series of movies based on the novels of Selena Kitt. The most successful of those up until now was Babysitting the Baumgartners—but here she delves even deeper into the sex life of a loving couple, and the results are both emotionally and sexually satisfying.

We meet Charlie and Jack (Cherie DeVille and Seth Gamble) during a morning cuddle that turns into something much hotter—and plants the notion in Charlie’s head that she’s ready to try something new. “So that’s how I got here, my ass in the air, my cheek resting on the cool sheets,” Charlie says in voice-over as Jack introduces her to the joys of rimming. She warms up slowly in this deeply romantic, realistic and sensual portrayal of first-time anal sex. “I just want to please you …,” Jack murmurs. “You’re so beautiful.” And though the emphasis is on intimacy and closeness, the viewers get a good view of the action—especially as Charlie lies on her side while Jack, kneeling, penetrates her anally while playing with her clit. Throughout, Jack’s focus is on Charlie’s pleasure, offering her continual affection and reassurance. At the end he sighs, “You are so amazing.”

The first third of the movie is devoted to this couple and the rhythm of their lives. Charlie’s a bit of a workaholic and perhaps a bit conservative in bed. But the anal sex really revs her engine. “My pussy ached at the thought,” she reminisces, while masturbating in the bathtub. But Jack has more plans in store for her, starting with a three-day weekend at a bed-and-breakfast … which turns out to be a swingers resort. Caught off guard, Charlie asks, “Who are you?” Jack responds, “Just a man who loves his beautiful wife.”

As suggested by the title, Charlie and Jack happily unfold their relationship at this unique resort, starting off slowly as bystanders watching innkeepers Marla and Lloyd (India Summer and Small Hands) enjoy a threesome with another denizen (Codey Steele). Group sex lesson taken to heart, Charlie and Jack continue their adventures with lithe and limber yoga instructor Brooke (Abella Danger), and even explore devil’s threesome and orgy territory, always helped along by the accommodating Lloyd and Marla. By the end, couples watching this movie will be ready to make their own reservations at this friendly little B&B.

But though the group scenes are hot and no doubt helped this title hit the top of the VOD charts for both HotMovies and Adult Empire, it’s the interaction between DeVille and Gamble that earns Unfolding a rave review. Not only do both deserve praise for their acting and sexual chemistry, but the director and crew earn kudos for having the patience to capture so many intimate moments, from cuddling to frantic quickies, without worrying about money shots and showy camera angles.
