Some tapes achieve Spotlight Pick status not so much because of their content, but due to their huge commercial potential. Whore of the Rings is one such tape.

Considering that the mainstream epic it's based on is one of the top grossers of all time (more than $270 million as of mid-February) and is nominated for 13 Oscars(r), including the coveted Best Picture award, it's a no-brainer that the porn send-up should benefit from crossover appeal.

Content-wise, director Jim Powers plays the sword and sorcerer stuff pretty straight to the vest, sans his trademark warped humor. While the script isn't likely to win any nominations, the look of the tape deserves a pre-nom for art direction. And there's a couple decent action sequences as well, complete with cheesy (but sorta entertaining nonetheless) animated special effects.

As for the anal inclusive sex, it's all pretty much in the sorta hot range with a couple standout scenes, such as the Nikita Denise/Lee Stone (as a demon) opener and the Kylie Ireland/Chris Cannon closer (speaking of Ireland, she looks luscious throughout, adorned in evil sorceress garb, including black patent leather boots and PVC top).
