The romance between Ryan McLane and Chanel Preston gets established by his waking her up with a "Happy Anniversary!" to celebrate their meeting at a long-ago party, complete with the dopey souvenir sombrero he was wearing at the time, and celebrated with a passionate fuck scene before they head off to work: McLane debugs software and Preston sells houses.

Preston's stepdaughter Ella Nova sneaks into a vacant house to hook up with boyfriend Ryan Driller and Preston finds out, and McLane discovers some discrepancies in some financial accounts and calls corporate-predator boss Marcus London with a, "We have to talk. Now." When Preston is awakened by the doorbell and a cop says, "I'm sorry ... there's been an accident," she finds out McLane died in a car accident and the viewer suspects London, who previously solicited a bribe to stop an embezzler from being prosecuted.

When Preston is awakened by a ghostly McLane hissing, "You're in danger," the wheels start turning. London meets with Preston and gives her McLane's final paycheck "plus a little more," and McLane's valise, with his computer. "Funny, he never went anyplace without that," Preston muses, to which London responds, "He was in a hurry—you had dinner plans?"

When Nova hacks into McLane's computer, the browser history has been erased (!) and his last two calls were to Preston and London (!!). After Preston visits a medium, McLane comes to her in a shower—but doesn't say anything, leaving open the possibility that it was just Preston's masturbatory fantasy. When Nova finds a flash drive in her dad's jacket, and London tries to silence Preston, McLane intervenes one last time. From beyond.

Writer/director Stormy Daniels—again—shows her mastery of short-form storytelling, providing just enough jigsaw pieces for the viewer to put the picture together. Excellent for couples because of the depth of the Preston/McLane relationship and the total lack of infidelity elements. Recommended.
