Synopsis

After losing her horse in an accident, Avery Montgomery (Stormy Daniels) gave up riding and moved to New York. A decade later she learns that her now estranged family's ranch is being auctioned by the bank to cover a delinquent loan. The Montgomerys have one chance to come up with the funds to save Thunder Creek: winning the Big Star Horse Trials. Avery must make the tough decision to return to Texas and face her demons ... and her old flame and former trainer Grant Meyer (Marcus London). Things are made more difficult by a fellow rancher who is willing to do anything to get his greedy hands on Thunder Creek, and by Avery's sister Joey (Lyra Law) who has a secret that could ruin everything.

Reviews

Unbridled isn’t the most inventive storyline that director/screenwriter Stormy Daniels produced this year, but it must be the most dear to her heart. For one thing, it’s the biggest Wicked Passions movie to date—shot on location in Texas. For another, it allows Daniels, a passionate equestrian, to get back in the saddle on camera, surrounded by many of the same crew members who worked on her AVN Award-winning horse opera Wanted.

Daniels casts herself as Avery, a former horsewoman who’s moved to New York City, leaving her family’s Texas ranch. But first we meet her sister, Jolene (Lyra Law), who’s also trying her hand at competitive equestrian eventing. Unfortunately, Jolene’s motivation isn’t testing her skills. She needs the prize money to save the hundred-year-old Thunder Creek Ranch, which her father (Jake Crew) may lose to his nemesis (competently played by TJ Bravo, who owns the land on which the movie was shot).

Things go from bad to worse after Jolene is injured while training. That’s what forces Avery to come back home, leaving her high-powered job and new lover (Ryan Driller). Shocked to hear her sister’s competing in the Big Star Horse Trials, she asks the family ranch hand (Dick Chibbles), “Are they insane?” He replies, “No, just desperate.”

Avery’s desperate herself to avoid two things: entering the race, and getting involved with her old lover, Grant (Marcus London), who trained her to ride. So it’s a waiting game to see what she’ll mount first: Leo, her late mother’s hard-to-handle horse, or Grant. Through steady pressure from Jolene, Avery eventually finds herself in the race and training with Grant—though this time it’s strictly professional, she says. “Grant and I have a lot of history. Some things just can’t be fixed,” she tells Jolene.

The triple-X side of things can be characterized as solid couples sex, as befits a Wicked Passions release. One standout is a nicely shot outdoor tryst between Lyra Law and Michael Vegas, playing Bravo’s son. As for the movie itself, it’s good old-fashioned adult entertainment, and it should gallop right into the hearts of devoted Daniels fans.
