It's a shame the cast members in this video don't get the credit they deserve for giving us top-notch S/M scenes with more than a touch of reality - those welts are real, and we see them being raised. Harshly lit and heavily acted as if it's an audition tape for some darker version of Upstairs Downstairs, this period piece hits all the right notes, from Victorian schoolgirl fetish to male head-of-the-house applying a swishy cane to shapely buttocks. It features great spanking technique once the play-acting is over, and it is highlighted by richer English accents than any BBC import on a public access TV station. The Governess, in her long black skirt and high-necked white shirt, is the stuff that submissive dreams (male and female alike) are made of. The caning sequence is superb, a credit to a long tradition. We even have an authentic birching. Terrific, authentic costumes complement the story, but the real deal is in the spanking and caning, presented in the context of a bygone age's respect for authority and consequence. The result is singularly impressive.
