Toby Treadwell (Spears) is an acting agent and a degenerate gambler. He owes money all over town, so his bookie, DeMarco (Tedeschi) sends Bruno (Davis) around to see him. Bruno confiscates Treadwell's car, but Treadwell's so far behind on the vig, he'll never get out of the hole. So his secretary, Ginger (Inari Vachs), tries to piece off Bruno with sex. That helps, but when word of Bruno's wheeling and dealing gets back to DeMarco, he flips. Until his girlfriend, madam Hildy Weiss, has a brainstorm. Why not run their call girls out of Treadwell's agency?

After that, it's all the usual, plot-wise. But that's okay, because this old plot is exercised with an uncommon amount of verve. Treadwell's not just a gambler; he's a comic, cringing weasel of large proportion. And Ginger's not just his secretary, she's his girlfriend. So she's not too crazy about the hookers taking over the office. Especially when the hookers start stealing parts from the actual actresses. And, of course, the temptation of the prosties proves too much for Treadwell.

Sexually, the scenes aren't as brief and hurried as they are in a lot of plot-oriented porn. Enright strikes a good balance between the story and the sex. Everybody puts forth a lot of effort in this department as well.
