For an art form rooted in humanity’s most primal urges, adult entertainment is all too often lacking in the ways it celebrates sensuality. Of the five senses, only the visual never gets short shrift. But in the quirky world of Forked, viewers will find all of their pleasure centers fully engaged.
Envisioned and directed for Adam & Eve Pictures by Kay Brandt (who helmed the AVN Award-winning Babysitting the Baumgartners), Forked is a tasty casserole that is part cooking show, part reality TV, part porn movie—and 100 percent entertainment.
The Forked project began last spring with a call for auditions; that led to SFW audition videos of the Forked hopefuls, which can be found on the movie’s YouTube channel. Full scenes were available first on the Adam & Eve VOD site, and then later on a double-disc DVD.
There’s a lot of content on these discs, with two rounds of contestants participating in three main activities: cooking, eating and fucking. We’re introduced to each one when they receive a formal summons to Forked, delivered on a plush velvet pillow. Interrupted during a phone sex session, Cristi Ann hastily hangs up to read the invitation: “You are cordially invited to the Forked party, where appetites are satisfied in the kitchen and in the bedroom.”
Indeed they are, with all the adult stars involved delivering detailed descriptions of the dishes as they are prepared, tantalizing the listeners’ senses of taste and smell. For the first two dishes, Cristi Ann salutes her Cuban heritage with lechon asado and dulce de leche, while Dick Chibbles surmounts technical difficulties (a handheld food processor on the fritz) to produce salmon covered in fruit salsa. The rest of the dishes range from comfort food (Leya Falcon’s fried chicken and cornbread) to continental cuisine (Marcus London and Tony DeSergio tag-team for chicken chausseur—and then do the same with Forked host Mercedes Carrera). There’s something to whet every appetite, from Mia Li’s fruit tart to Damon Dice’s “power breakfast” sandwiches, stacked high with eggs, turkey sausage, cheese, bacon and veggies.
The sex scenes occur somewhat organically, not on the usual relentless porno schedule. After Cristi Ann admires Jenevieve Hexx’s ink, the tatted brunette says, “I like your … everything,” and proceeds to explore the blonde Latina’s every curve. Dick Chibbles catches a glimpse of the action but he has to wait a while before he gets to bang Alison Rey after some hot flirtation while she’s crafting her healthy cupcakes.
Nicely shot by cinematographer Mike Quasar, both the cooking scenes and the sex look delicious. And those who enjoy behind-the-scenes content will find plenty to like in this two-disc set. As with BTS interviews, Forked gives its stars a chance to let their personalities shine. We can enjoy Carrera’s seductive swagger, Damon Dice’s virile, nice-guy vibe. (A former chef, he compares porn to cooking: “It’s a very high-pressure, high-intensity situation … you have to be on top of your game.”) Particularly engaging is Falcon, who works her slutty-girl vibe to comic effect. “I know I’m a little rough and crazy, but I try not to get rough and crazy with my chicken,” she says. And when Dice interjects that dogs’ mouths are cleaner than humans’, Falcon nods knowingly. “You know the dicks I’ve sucked,” she interjects.
The last two sex scenes both feature Dice. First, he gets to play with Carrera and Li, enjoying their firm bust lines, long black hair and neatly trimmed bushes. And for the finale he’s paired with Falcon for an energetic fuck. Afterwards, when he says, “It’s time to get cleaned up,” Falcon responds slyly: “Well, I’m not doing the dishes.”
The audience, of course, has no such worries. They’ve gotten to enjoy five sex scenes and a multi-course feast, with no cleanup required.
