It's interesting indeed that despite persistent charges that porn is particularly degrading, destructive and hurtful to the women it touches, it is a former male performer, Jonathan Morgan, who has issued the biz what has to be accounted among the most exacting and stinging fuck-you hate notes ever signed, sealed and stuffed up the kiester of the industry that loves to despise itself, and consistently does so more intensely and obsessively than a brigade of Catherine MacKinnons and Andrea Dworkins ever could.
Randy Spears and Temptress are the co-hosts of a smut version of Entertainment Tonight called Inside Porn. Spears is a loser would-be mainstream broadcaster who has to talk himself hard in order to benefit from a Sylvia Saint hummer, and does so by presenting himself broadcasting awards he'll never actually receive as he stares into the mirror past a cluster of bested whisky bottles.
His co-host and lover Temptress is hard, used, stupid, unaware of her own inability and meaner than Ann Coulter. And even she can look down upon the seedy little guttersnipes she finds shooting smut in a cheap San Fernando Valley hotel room or a dumb little porn cunt about to do her first anal scene or even the failed high concept actress turned ass-slut for pay. Morgan strafes the biz and its denizens mercilessly, and although this is presented as comedy, he is in dead earnest and it's obvious.
The biggest hint that this is so is the fact that Morgan enlists his sexual footage in his subversive little program, making the coital content here aggressively ugly and unsettling, from the staging to the character of the sex itself to the color palette with which its rendered. A bomb-throwing masterpiece.
