Girlsway brings us a lesbian version of “A Christmas Carol” with Reena Sky as a glamorous Scrooge. She’s an advertising mogul whose estranged stepdaughter, Shyla Jennings, is returning home for Christmas with girlfriend Elle Alexandra.
Reena despises the holidays as empty and commercial and seems to delight in making everybody miserable. Shyla comes out to her about being gay and Reena does not take the news well. She tells the girls they are “no longer welcome in this house.” It seems she’s really just ashamed of her own lesbian feelings, which had surfaced years earlier when she seduced the teenage Shyla.
As Reena remembers that event, she is visited by the eerie Christmas Spirit, played by an unrecognizable Charlotte Stokely. (Excellent special effects!) The Spirit makes her relive seducing her stepdaughter, then shows her the future when happily married Shyla and Elle enjoy sex after remembering Reena, who has died.
Reena begs the Spirit for another chance to “do it different.” So it’s back to the present on Christmas Eve as Reena catches the girls making out. This time she is warm and accepting and gets all Christmasy, with decorations and presents. After reminding Shyla that “I used to be a lesbian when I was younger,” she joins them in some mutually satisfying Sapphic maneuvers. The action is hot (especially with girl/girl veterans Shyla and Elle), the actors are convincing, and director Stills by Alan moves things right along.
The DVD comes with a second disc containing a separate Christmas scene with RayVeness and Jenna Reid as mom and stepdaughter. RayVeness, as usual, is fabulous and Jenna is all quivering first-timer innocence. Girl/girl fans will not be disappointed with this fine package, which is another feather in the cap for producer Bree Mills.
