The fourth and climactic installment of Michelle Flynn’s Momentum series stays true to the basic premise of the project: bodies in motion across stunning Australian landscapes, with pauses for sensual couplings and voyeuristic interludes. (As Flynn says in the BTS, “Basically the whole film is like fucking Lord of the Rings. There’s a lot of walking.”)
Two characters are introduced in separate frames, both walking by the same grain silos and salt flats, but apparently at different times. The camera first follows Laney, a pretty strawberry blonde who hitches a ride with Taylor, a towering, bearded and vaguely creepy guy. After leaving Laney and Taylor behind, the camera returns to the first man, Ryan James, who will stumble his way out of a bar and into a two-up game—apparently an illegal form of gambling down under.
Watching these two characters make their way through desert landscapes, ramshackle farms and shabby alleys, one wants to know more about them, but director Flynn is resolute on keeping the focus on their sensual experiences. Along the way they both observe others masturbating and encounter obstacles to their progress, but ultimately find their own happy endings, so to speak.
Ryan meets up with two women. A brunette sylph with bangs, Lucinda, is down to fuck; earth mama Sky just likes to watch, so Ryan puts on a very good show, swatting Lucinda’s petite ass before fucking her in myriad positions.
In the end, Sky gets her reward when she meets up with Laney. The two of them enjoy an idyll by a lake that ends with a cliffhanger that could segue easily into a Momentum 5 … if Flynn is willing.
