This unrated version (don't bother with the R-rated release) of the mainstream import (it's in Spanish with English subtitles) revolves around the sexual awakening of two teens by their hot (and damned cute) cousin (Verdu) who, unbeknownst to the boys, is leaving her philandering husband and dying of cancer.

In the midst of it all, director Cuaron manages to throw in a bit of socialist propaganda about the plight of the common folk in rural Mexico. But never mind about that; both the boys have hot (if not hardcore) scenes with their girlfriends at the beginning of the pic, and later, each has an encounter with the cousin before all engage in a three-way — which gets a little gayer than the boys can handle.

Along the way, there's plenty of teen angst and jealousy about the "relationship," coupled with some decent and intriguing sexual philosophy that doesn't detract from the sex itself.

Note: While three cast members (though, alas, not Verdu) do a commentary track, it's in Spanish. There's also a short feature by director Cuaron's brother, Carlos.
