With Pulpo's debut feature release, director Andres Tabogo has created something rarely seen in porn. He's made an adult movie. While chronic masturbators may be confused or off-put by Tabogo's patient and keen use of story, style, sound and sex, those who crave a mix of mainstream production values and hardcore sex will not be disappointed. Black Worm stimulates both the head on the shoulders and the one in hand.
Sultry starlet Lorena Sanchez plays Carla, the dedicated junkie girlfriend of small time Mexican gangster, Capo (fiercely played by Jean Paul). After Capo robs business associate Oso, Carla soon realizes she's just another of Capo's expendable resources. \"I'm going to rape your piece of shit brain,\" she promises, while aiming a gun at Capo's head during the feature's ominous opening.
Like Eli Cross's Corruption, Black Worm doesn't shy away from violence. Adult situations are presented realistically and without apology. These are not good people. And, Tabogo doesn't sacrifice story for sex; sex compliments his story. Black Worm's sex scenes are unobtrusive. Tabogo shoots them naturally, giving importance to the sex acts themselves rather than the angles. This is a movie about greed and revenge, both passionate desires. It makes sense that the sex be presented as such as well.
