For anyone who's ever been fascinated by the exploitation films of the '50s and '60s, this is a must-see disc. It chronicles -- through original footage, film clips, photos and extensive interviews with "nudie-cutie" producers Dan Sonney and Dave Friedman (whose autobiography, A Youth In Babylon, is itself a must-read), as well as their relatives, associates and a movie critic or two -- that fascinating age of "independent cinema" and stage showmanship that's in some ways the direct ancestor of modern-day porn. The film is one incredible (but true!) anecdote after another, each entertaining and nearly unbelievable in its own right, that taken together form a reference work to which fans and experts both will return again and again.
