April (Stormy Daniels) and Michael (Danny Mountain) are a happily married couple. One night a car accident puts April in the hospital with a head injury. With her release she starts acting out of character—more impulsive, emotionally, physically and sexually.
April assaults her rival at work, dreams of Michael boning her assistant Lisa (Asa Akira, as always a dynamic performer) and starts going to swingers clubs. She watches a four-way scene with Britney Amber, Nikki Daniels, Jack Vegas and Brad Knight. And she also gives club owner Steven St. Croix a hot b.j. in the back of a limo. When her damaged brain thinks Michael is banging Lisa, she gets revenge by riding the pool boy (Eric Masterson). “How clichéd is that?” Michael yells after catching her in the act (funny line).
There is a half-hearted attempt to sell her actions as a new zest for life, but it is obvious almost from the beginning there are complications from the accident. The stakes never seem very high, even when Michael leaves post pool boy encounter, but Impulse never gets too heavy. Which is a good thing. Customers looking for some light drama, capable acting (from the leads and Akira at least) and decent production value in their porn selection will have plenty to like in Impulse.
