Wide Open Housewife, more elegantly known by its French title 39 Ans... Mariée et Ouverte à Tous, was made by British director Kendo for legendary French producer Marc Dorcel, and its porn pedigree shows in every exacting shot.
There's something very quaint in this straightforward tale of a group of upper-class "mature" Parisian swingers, all in their late 30s and early 40s (which, by most Euro-standards of beauty and glamour, makes them barely middle-aged). The women are attractive across the board; the men are recognizable Euro-studs who have settled into their roles with a realistic dignity and restraint.
Production values are high. The hardcore action is rather tamely executed, but captured with class and old-school eroticism. Busty Czech seductress Satin Bloom joins her husband in an upscale bar's restroom for a b.j. and ass-fucking. Mya Diamond's hubby Mike Angelo sodomizes her over his desk at work, and there's a sophisticated dinner party orgy featuring this entire bourgeois circle swapping partners.
The DVD release includes six language tracks. The breathless commentary by the British-accented English narrator—implying drama where there is none, describing acts that have become de rigueur in today's most middle-of-the-road porn as impossibly kinky—is amusing, yet lends a charming sort of 1970s "XXX chic" vibe to the show.
Recommended for older smut-viewing veterans, couples and fans of gorgeous European MILFs.
