Wicked Pictures can be proud not only for releasing the first plus-size educational sex guide, but for being the first studio to realize how needed such an instructional guide has been for plus-size couples, and the people who enjoy having sex with those of size. Yes, big people love to have sex, this DVD proclaims in so many words, and the how-to guide within, narrated by award-winning performer Kelly Shibari, provides excellent insight on how to make love to your plus-size partner.
But the DVD is really more than that; it also provides insight on the way these performers and real life couples feel about their bodies, what if any sort of struggle they’ve gone through being big most of their lives, and how they manage today to be comfortable in their own skin. Guide to Wicked Sex: Plus Size is the true, definitive guide to plus-size sex; it will surely reach its intended market, and show that being big is not only sexy but can and should be celebrated.
Shibari is clearly the best spokesperson the adult industry has today regarding the plus-size market, and her own personal and professional experience as a plus-size woman is one of the many areas of expertise she brings to Plus Size. She succeeds in demonstrating with an array of performers, and herself, the mechanics involved in order for each plus-size performer to reach their physical comfort levels. The DVD doesn’t hold back in saying that yes, sometimes body parts get in the way and some plus-size people may not be too agile, but there are ways of overcoming these obstacles so that each person and their partner will achieve a pleasurable sexual experience.
Some of the proceedings include exercises such as a fun one where AVN Novelty Editor Sherri Shaulis and her partner Michael Colbert (in a non-sex scene) go through a list of words they feel describe one another best before describing what they like about the other sexually and physically. Elsewhere, Scarlette Cyn and her partner JC Lewis rub oil on each other, illustrating how being sensual with your partner is just as important as being sexual.
The three sex scenes (two boy/girl, one girl/girl) that follow the 42-minute introductory portion nicely capture each couple engaging in erotic and almost realistic interpretations of all that was discussed. It’s still porn-style sex, but done so that the positions can be easily mimicked. You won’t see the performers doing anything that would be physically draining just for the audience’s sake. It's sex that any person of size can handle and still enjoy. And any fan of big women, after viewing this, will definitely come away better equipped to please their partner.
Wicked Pictures delivers a gigantic milestone for body positivity, and opens the door for more plus-size performers (male and female) to be accepted into the mainstream adult world.
