One of the best things to happen to porn parodies in the past few years is the heightened attention to the details of the source material and bringing as much of that as possible to the parody. It gives viewers more “legitimate” reasons to watch porn, and can really take a movie from mediocre to must-have.

Thanks to B. Skow and the cast and crew, Austin Powers XXX: A Porn Parody is a definite must-have.

To start with, the casting of Tommy Pistol in the roles of Austin Powers and Dr. Evil is brilliant. One of the best actors in the industry, Pistol not only captures the mannerisms and nuances of each character, but has the ability to stay in character even during the most heated sex scenes. While he’s great as Austin Powers, he’s downright hysterical as Dr. Evil.

But he’s not alone: Everyone in the cast is dedicated to their role, in and out of their costume, if you know what we mean. Raylene portrays Mrs. Kensington, Austin’s handler from the '60s, and shows she can handle every inch of him during a campy, flashback sex scene. Allie Haze, Nina Hartley and Evan Stone all give outstanding cameo performances, but Ralph Long’s appearance, albeit brief, really takes the cake, baby.

B. Skow not only gets the most from his actors and actresses, but from the crew as well. Quick edits, shots played for laughs and special effects are done in homage to the original movie, and the script could easily replace that of the third movie in the trilogy, which really was lackluster and forgettable.

Parodies have become old hat in adult, but B. Skow and everyone associated with Austin Powers XXX: A Porn Parody show that with dedication and determination it can be done well. This effort is absolute perfection.
