The first thing that will strike viewers of the Radley Metzger classic film Barbara Broadcast is its grandeur; most notably the fact that it takes place largely in what appears to be a large, elegant restaurant (aka the lobby of the Royal Manhattan Hotel—now the Milford Plaza—in midtown NYC), where everything is on the menu ... including the waiting staff. (That's Zebedy Colt licking Clea Carson's pussy as she takes his order.)

The title character—yes, Metzger really gave her that name—is played by Annette Haven, who as the story opens is approached by autograph seekers who want her to sign the book which details the (sex) crimes for which Barbara was deported from her native Puerto Rico. It's clear she's still in that game, as she readily agrees to interrupt the interview she's giving to reporter C.J. Laing and give head to another autograph-seeker right there in the restaurant. In fact, the majority of the sexual action in this flick is oral.

The movie's first actual sex scene takes place between veteran performer Alan Marlowe and Barbara's former employee Shirley Peters, whose career in porn consisted of just three movies. After a decent b.j., Shirley climbs aboard Marlowe on a serving table for a brief cowgirl ride, which ends when he pulls out and cums in place.

Notably, there are humorous asides throughout this film, such as every time Clea (or, really, anyone, including patrons) drops a plate or otherwise screws up, she has to suck Maitre d' Bobby Astyr's cock.

Well worth mentioning are this collection's extras, which include commentary by Metzger, "film facts" subtitles (which will relate much more info about the film's music than most will want to know), a "Making of Barbara Broadcast" short, an interview with actor Michael Gaunt, outtakes, trailers, radio spots and even reproductions of newspaper ads.
