The sitcom that did for John Travolta what Happy Days did for Henry Winkler now has its own porn parody, with all the trimmings to please those who enjoy 1970s sitcoms and disco-era fashion faux pas.
Given that the original series starred stand-up comedian Gabe Kaplan as a wisecracking teacher who goes back home to New York to teach a class of unruly boneheads, it’s not surprising that the male performers get the best lines. They’re the ones who really make Jordan Septo’s script sail. Anthony Rosano has Kaplan’s comedic timing down cold. Tommy Pistol is a stitch as Jewish-Puerto Rican Juan Epstein. And cute Seth Gamble wears Vinnie Barbarino’s white slacks well. (Gamble has become Travolta’s de facto Porn Valley body double—can a role in Urban Cowboy XXX be next?)
Allie Haze looks cute and fresh-faced as Mrs. Kotter, who finds time for her own teaching moment with shy guy Arnold Horshack (Ryan McLane) on the same couch where Mr. Kotter engaged in extracurricular activities with neighbor Scarlet Banks. Mia Gold plays a naughty rabbi’s daughter who enjoys some non-kosher sausage in a three-way with Pistol’s Epstein and Jon Jon’s Freddie "Boom Boom" Washington. And fan fave Eva Angelina does a welcome turn as Barbarino’s girlfriend, taking his rubber hose everywhere but up the nose.
