Rob Black takes a big chance by waiting until almost 15 minutes into Birds of Prey before featuring a sex scene, but fortunately it pays off.

Rather than throw some people into costumes, add a few lines of dialog that has the performers stating the names of the characters they are playing and then featuring sex scene after sex scene, Black really takes the time to develop the story and provide some back story in this XXX parody. Birds of Prey XXX is more like a graphic novel brought to the screen as opposed to just another comic book parody. A lot of characters from the DC universe are brought into the plot line, which centers on Talia al Ghul (Lizzy Borden) escaping prison and trying to exact revenge on the Huntress (Gracie Glam), whose father (Batman) killed her father, Raz al Ghul. Glam does a hell of a job in her acting performance, pulling off the pathos the role calls for since she is a woman afraid of being hunted down to pay for the sins of her father.

Of course, the Huntress is working with her fellow Birds of Prey members, Oracle/Barbara Gordon (Brooklyn Lee) and the Black Canary (Kagney Linn Karter). Additionally, they have moral support from Commissioner Gordon (Tom Byron, who seems to have been born to play this role in parodies, as this is his third go-around). But al Ghul has her own support system in Dr. Harleen Quinzel (Chanel Preston) and Alyce Sinner (Alexis Texas).

But it's not all acting and plot development; there are also some hot sex scenes thrown in. While they might be a little "vanilla" for some, they are pretty riveting. A standout is Brooklyn Lee and Tommy Gunn as the only decent cop left in Gotham. The duo pairs up to fight crime and get down and dirty as well. And who knew Lee could make a wheelchair look so freakin' hot? She even manages to use it to her advantage in a later scene with her fellow Birds of Prey during a steamy, celebratory three-way.

And as always, Kagney Linn Karter commands the screen during her sexual throw down, this time a round with Rocco Reed as the Green Arrow.

Birds of Prey also comes with two packaging options: A traditional version with the movie and a bonus disc, and a special collector's edition tin package that includes a third disc with scenes from Tom Byron Pictures, hand-selected by the director himself. Those extra scenes bring the total running time to roughly 600 minutes.

For those who think the comic parodies are tapped out and not worth their time, Birds of Prey XXX will prove them wrong. The script is strong, the acting well done, and the sex is sure to amaze fans of the comic and the casual fan of porn.
