Uptight college student Andy San Dimas is engaged, saving herself for marriage and unimpressed by her slutty dorm-mate. Forced by the cruelties of finance to get a job, she begins tutoring handsome Argentinean Marco Rivera, who is obsessed with the tango but not so good with the English. Naturally, San Dimas and Rivera eventually hook up, but not until after much assurance to the contrary.
Rivera does an excellent job as an immigrant with a love for women and a heart of gold, while San Dimas is irritatingly convincing as a judgmental coed trying to be good. Xavier Towers is hilariously effective as a husband who finds his wife and her lover en flagrante. The mellow tango soundtrack is a delight, and the inevitable scene between San Dimas and Rivera is worth the wait.
