Porn’s premier parodists, director Will Ryder and producer Scott David, are at it again, this time setting their Wayback Machine for the 1960s to concoct a spot-on spoof of The Beverly Hillbillies, co-produced with Adam & Eve Pictures. As usual, the X-Play director/producer duo nails all the details: sets, makeup, wardrobe—and, most notably, casting.

A baby boomer staple created by producer Paul Henning (Petticoat Junction, Green Acres), The Beverly Hillbillies originally ran from 1962 to 1971, but subsequent generations have had a heaping helping of hillbilly hospitality courtesy of Nick at Night—further boosting the number of viewers who would pay to see Ellie May pop her top. And Kagney Linn Karter’s turn as the backwoods babe—who sported Daisy Dukes before there was a Daisy Duke—will more than reward their curiosity.

Speaking of curiosity, who has sex with whom here? Yes, the original show’s only hotties—Ellie May and her strapping cousin Jethro (played by Otto Bauer)—get nekkid … but not with each other. Proto-dyke Miss Jane (Dana DeArmond) lets her hair down … though not, as one might expect, in a girl/girl grope (instead, she nails Ryan Driller). But the first character to get his freak on is the least likely: Banker Mr. Drysdale (James Bartholet) makes a deposit on Courtney Page and Kaylee Hilton following a ho-hum hummer. Not, perhaps, what fans were dying to see, but it’s a start.

The plot and dialogue hew closely to the original, but with innuendo replaced by intercourse. Jethro and Ellie May set up their own talent agency at the Clampett mansion, complete with casting couch. The aforementioned Page and Hilton mistake Drysdale for the big boss; meanwhile, Jethro gets busy with hopeful Annie Cruz, and Ellie May enjoys a Sapphic floor show provided by Taylor Vixen and Aubrey Addams. When Granny looks up from her possum stew and realizes what’s going on, she heads for the hills—and so does the rest of the family, giving Ellie May a chance to get it on with Billy Bob (Eric John).

Though the sex scenes are solid, they’re overshadowed by other components, including pitch-perfect performances from non-sex actors Haley Hewes and Gary Lee as Granny and Uncle Jed. And, of course, there are generous extras: a non-sex version, four behind-the-scenes segments, cast interviews, director and producer commentary, bloopers and outtakes, and two bonus scenes (from A-Team XXX: A Parody and Not Married With Children XXX).
