The Rites series takes a firm step forward in its second installment, which keeps stars Tim Lowe and Brian Adams from the Rites of Summer and adds to the cast of insatiable Joe Cade and hot newcomer Les Stine. When any of these four guys are on the screen, the temperature soars, and when Cade and Adams pair up by the swimming pool, the thermometer bursts wide open.
Danny Brown is the perfect "pretty boy" and has a good sense of showing it all off for the camera, while Cam Kelly, Paul Coder and Nick Cougar hold their own among the stellar competition. But Buc Davison seems out of place in this cast, and the first scene is the weak link in the feature. Don't go away: the rest of this production is superb, and the technical quality is first-rate in every detail. Les Stine, I have to add, looks like a young Paul Newman, and if that doesn't arouse your enthusiasm, you might as well be dead. Nice packaging.
