Paul Barresi directs one of his best features to date: a quiet tale of a military stepfather and his lazy stepson. Cole Tucker overdoes it a bit as the stepfather but still manages to pull out a fine sexual performance; and Kris De'Ferr, as the stepson, is a fine newcomer who is both innocent and sexual.
Several good scenes fill the video: An explosive bathroom stall encounter between hunky Alex Wilcox and cutie Scott Matthews; a nice bedroom fuck-fest with thin and pale (but sporting a huge schlong) Anthony Cox and adorable newcomer Frank Taylor; and the final romantic pairing of De'Ferr and daddy's best friend Reed Parker.
Julie Winchester also has a very natural standout performance as De'Ferr's alcoholic mother. Unfortunately, she's not in it as much as she should be, but it's still enough to garner her a Best Non-Sex Role pre-nomination.
Also outstanding is the music, which gets and absolute, definite pre-nom. The heartbreaking country song (sung by Winchester) fits the tone of the video, sounds professional and stands well on its own. Editing also gets added to the pre-nom list.
Barresi does terrific work as a director and captures the subtleties of the characters and the situations. A pre-nom for Best Director.
