Any fan of youth and beauty will be intrigued by this light romantic tale of love lost and love found.

Director Clarke follows up his successful youth-oriented story Something Very Big with a video that centers around two young men and the relationships that surround them.  The American Way introduces a cast full of fresh faces, most notably Ashton Ryan and Christian Taylor, both of whom carry the video with their youthful exuberance and sexual innocence.

Ryan is a young man on a journey to self-discovery and Taylor is looking for love in all the wrong places.  They connect at Ryan's gay uncle's Palm Springs resort and make beautiful music together.  Unfortunately, Ryan is still looking for more and the relationship sours -- much like the rumored real relationship between both young men.

One incredible scene (in a video chock full of them) has blond cherub Taylor connecting with buddy Aaron Nichols after he and Ryan have broken up.  They start out playing soccer and end up playing with each other, Nichols topping Taylor.  Both guys have terrific chemistry and really have a lot of fun with their scene, which ends with Nichols blowing a creamy load all over a grinning Taylor's face.

There is not much development of the two leads, but both are fine actors and Clarke has an uncanny ability to scout out the right young men and pair them up with great partners.

This is a terrific feature for people looking for young romance.
