Reviews

Catalina scores major points with this fun tale of back-stabbing (and ass-stabbing) Hollywood divas.

Steve Rambo is a bitchy movie director whose casting couch is always full. Blake Harper is his lover, a movie producer who is forced to turn a blind eye to his man's shenanigans. Jason Branch is a movie star on the verge of being discovered (who also happens to be having a fling with Rambo). Branch's boyfriend, Ray Harley, is the film's composer, who is completely oblivious to his man's shenanigans.

Ultimately tempers flare and situations explode, resulting in a murder mystery that Hollywood would be proud of.

Some fine performances all-round, specifically Blake Harper, who's given some terrific dialogue as the jilted boyfriend and earns a Best Supporting Actor pre-nom. Steve Rambo garners a Best Actor pre-nom as well, playing his role as the nasty, catty director with relish. Other pre-noms: Josh Eliot's screenplay with its fun twists and turns, the music (Sonic Seduction and original tunes played by Ray Harley) is fitting and a fine threesome with Branch, Rambo and crewmember Carson Cole (even though he never takes off his pants).

Overall, a lot of fun.
