No wonder the opening credits of The Story of a Young Champion have a voice-over in which someone with a heavy accent explains what the film is about. If you just sit down and watch this incoherent mess, you won't have a clue. There is a helicopter rescue in a snowy field, followed by snowmobile chases, incomprehensible dialogue, and bad acting. The subtitles are so poorly executed you will scream with laughter. We gather (from the box) that an American skier is kidnapped by the Russian mafia so their guys will win the title. Or something to that effect. After two hours, we still hadn't figured it out, but there were a bunch of cute foreign twinks getting nasty. Some even do it in the snow! Unfortunately, the four (only!) sex scenes go on for too long and tend to drag. This was meant to be a "big production," but it is sadly sunk by its own ineptness.
