In a campy nod to American Idol, Jet Set spoofs the reality TV contest genre with this clever porn satire. Six contestants compete for the chance to become an "American porn star," paired off in groups of two to perform sex scenes. Tag Eriksson, Alec Powers, and Lorenzo Vargas serve as the hypercritical (and increasingly horny) judges who break the rules and jump in on some of the action, and Jason Sechrest has a field day in a nonsex role as the show's Ryan Seacrest-like host. As far as the sex, super smoothies Jason Adonis and Rico Suave do a serviceable job in their duo (Eriksson makes it a threeway when he decides he needs to join in the fun as well); Vince Taylor is forced to do a solo when his scene partner drops out at the last minute; Vargas and Derec Lang perform a super sticky "breakfast-in-bed" scene complete with gobs of maple syrup and whipped cream; and the ultrahot Taylor steps out of porn retirement to play top Master to Ben Campezi's submissive bottom boy in a leather-themed scene that is light on kink but heavy on sexual chemistry. Eriksson drops trou for another scene, this one with the muscular Ken Scott, but, coming on the heels of the Taylor/Campezi sequence, it seems a bit anticlimactic. The script pokes fun at its subject matter, with Eriksson brandishing his ego as "the next big superstar" as a weapon against his fellow judges. There's a lot of fun to be had with this sly entry in the sex-comedy genre, and it's worth it just to see Powers back in action again.
