After a drug problem sidetracked his career, director Steven Scarborough spent two-and-a-half years getting clean and regrouping. In September 2002, he started shooting Resurrection, his first mainstream film in three years. (His last was Descent, starring Aiden Shaw. "It was very artsy, kind of on-the-edge. And it literally was about my descent into drug addiction. You can see that all through it, if you look carefully," Scarborough says before correcting himself. "Not even carefully.") The title is no coincidence. "It's been really good to get back in the saddle," the Hall of Fame director says. The industry will be welcoming him back with open arms with this feature, which follows Trent Atkins on a sex club journey. Scarborough hasn't lost his touch: This film looks amazing, especially on DVD.

Atkins gets things started with Adam Wolfe; the two exchange wads of spit before Atkins gets fucked in a sling. We then join Jacob Scott, Ben Archer, and Jason Branch for a memorable threeway. Frequent shots of Scott's hole feed viewers' anticipation until Branch finally fills it. Branch's quad muscles get a great workout as he thrusts into Scott's hole, and the camera captures the plowing gloriously. Elsewhere, Atkins visits a glory hole manned by Bret Wolfe. Both men are superb cocksuckers and bottoms-supreme, and with no top on tap they snake a double-dong up their asses and fuck themselves while joined at the sphincters. We stay at the holes for a four-man feast with Archer, Nino Bacci, Paul Johnson, and Nick Capra (who disappears far too quickly). Branch shows up to deliver a nice fuck to a hard Johnson, with Atkins lending a hand. Once again the camerawork is first-rate, and Johnson keeps his muscled leg up so that we can catch all the action. Branch and Johnson are a great pair; this scene could have gone on longer.

Johnson returns for a great finale with Atkins and Bacci. Resurrection's hottest shot comes at the beginning of this scene. Bacci pulls Johnson's big hard-on out from underneath as Johnson, on all fours, sucks Atkins. Bacci taps Johnson's dick hole with his finger and out comes a thick strand of shiny pre-cum, which he attaches to Johnson's butt-hole and fingers it. Both then take turns fucking Atkins.

The two-disc DVD edition benefits from a rock-solid transfer. Scarborough uses vibrant, bold colors in the background, and the rich reds and blues give the dark scenes added depth.
