Reviews

Imagine if HBO's Oz had gone even further with its homoerotic subtext and shown its gay characters in explicit man-on-man action, and you'll have a pretty good idea of what goes on in this prison-themed bear video. Featuring a rowdy cast of rugged and hairy rough-and-tumblers, this movie pays homage to the raw masculinity of muscles, sweat, and lots of fur. The cast is uniformly appealing, from the shaved-headed allure of muscle daddies Damien and Steve Majors to the street-thug charms of Dillon Press and Rick Leon. Director Paul Barresi gets right to the action with a fourway set in a cell shared by Damien, Press, Joe Romero, and Patric LeGrange. As hunky prison guard Majors strokes himself while watching them on his TV monitor, the four cellmates engage in the kind of fur-flying group sex that would give a dog a bone. Damien and Press are later recruited for a more than serviceable threeway with new cell-pig Leon, and Romero and Eric Evans (the warden) are teamed for a woofalicious scene in the warden's office. There's even a hot bit with Press sucking on a mystery cock through a glory hole he's carved in his cell's wall. But, while the sex here is plenty hot, the script could have used a little help, and, in the case of the Romero-Evans scene, Barresi misses a great opportunity to subvert the prison hierarchy of power by rushing straight into the sex without any build-up. Still, aside from the annoying looping of shots to make the sex seem longer than it really is, what's right with Bear Cage outweighs what's wrong with it, and fans of the bear/daddy genre won't have far to look for a jizz-worthy flick that celebrates the finer points of pleasure between hot and hirsute men. Pre-Nom Best Specialty Release, Best Music (Sharon Kane).
