Though Jonathan Powers gets directing credit, Young Hustlers has the clever and insightful stamp of veteran writer/director Angel Rivera written all over it.  The primary giveaway involves a story on a porn agent and his stable of trashy, tongue-lashed male prostitutes.  Only Rivera would try (and mostly succeed) to take realistic characters in a pitiable position and blend them with good (if not altogether carefree) sex.

The feature is a rich and astute accounting of the shabby, cut-throat world of middle-echelon photography.  The characters spend most of the time alternately screaming at each other and treating themselves to hideously gauche baubles and trinkets with the money they make from whoring.  Everyone, as written, has a heart of gold, but the director's sentiments are pretty obviously with the boys and not their hissy, corpulent mentor.

Young Hustlers is an uncanny and sexually stimulating sexvid that will appeal to hardcore fans of gay video, and to those who may be curious about its satellite world.
