Remember the mainstream films designed primarily to showcase the talent of a single actor or actress? These "star vehicles" have been rare in gay adult video for the simple reason that so few actors have deserved the full treatment, particularly in recent years. If they are great in the sack, they can't act; if they can act, their sexual charisma is limited. But Chi Chi LaRue knows the exception when he sees it: if you don't already believe that Ryan Yeager equals the all-time superstars of the gay industry (e.g. Richard Locke, Jack Wrangler, Al Parker), this definitely A-level tape is bound to persuade you.

LaRue tailors the clever script to fit like a glove, casting Yeager as a young man fed up with the hypocrisy forced on him and his lover (newcomer Scott Bond, in an impressive debut) by life in a small town. The last straw comes when Bond's parents return home early and cut short the romantic interlude the two lovers have planned. When Bond insists on hanging around in order to inherit the family business, Yeager takes off for discovered and ends up in X-rated films (he is discoverd, of course, by LaRue). Afraid of his lover's reaction, Yeager writes home that he is working as a waiter, unaware that Bond is planing to join him in L.A.

So where do they meet? On the set of an X-rated movie, of course. Seems that this has long been one of Bond's secret fantasies, and when can't find Yeager, he has to do something with his spare time. Their reunion provides an ironically romantic, intensely erotic climax, for which the viewer has been waiting since the cointerruptsuptus of the first scene. Erotic suspense doesn't get any heavier than this, and the pay-off is indeed worth the wait. In the meantime, of course, we have been well entertained by an excellent supporting cast. When you add state-of-the-art videography by Josh Eliot and virtually flawless editing by Chet Thomas, the results are dynamite. Not a single millimeter of tape is wasted in this first-rate production that catapults both Yeager (as actor) and LaRue (as writer/director) into the gay adult hall of fame.
