A kiss is just a kiss except when it's between Danny Sommers and Axel Garret. It's so nice to see a truly romantic plot in gay video and this covers gay lust, true love, internalized homophobia and unabashed sex. There are stereotypes and broken stereotypes. It comes from awardwinning director Jerry Douglas, who is responsible for last year's best-selling Trade-Off. Rookie officer Garret is assigned with handsomely rugged Michael Brawn to entrap guys in tea rooms, bathrooms and theaters. Finally, they get trapped in the limousine of Mitch Taylor, who makes the cops do each other — and they do, willingly. (Limo sex is a new one, but looks fun!) Brawn plays a very sexy straight detective whose anger may offend, with lines like "Pervo patrol," "fag control" and "going out to bag a queer." But, the hypocrisy is clear after these cops begin to enjoy their undercover roles. There are great close-ups of eyes and some intense romance, but the final kiss is too uptight and the whole movie is a bit too long. Yet, it's great writing and Sommers romantically proves, "A man's tongue can be a wonderful thing."
