Filmco’s debut gay release, with an excellent all-black cast, is another title that should have earned AAAAs. The opening episode, in which Watson sexily wheedles an apartment out of his rich Uncle Al as the house boy watches, is delightful in both its humor and character development. If this high quality had been maintained throughout, we would have a genuine classic on our hands.

But the rest of the production is uneven. When Watson moves into his apartment, he is visited by a collection of friends as well as a pizza delivery boy. The scene in which Watson berates his friend for having sex while he is out buying beer and the final scene, when Swann decides to move in as Watson’s lover, have a fine sense of humor as well as hot sense of sex. But what fills in the gaps is not up to the same high standard.
