Director Lawrence (who also wrote the script) has a first-rate concept: a shy young man (Houston) is promised ten years of sexual bliss if he will sell his soul to the devil (Ryan). Lawrence also has a cast that for the most part delivers top-notch performances, both sexually and dramatically. Newcomer Houston is simply delightful as the lead, combining sex appeal with easy delivery of dialogue, and Ryan makes a suavely seductive devil. To no-one's surprise, Jason Ross steals the acting honors as the "self-centered jerk" next door who first spurns Danny as a "loser" and then succumbs to his "diabolic" charm. Ross's sexual versatility has never been put to more appropriate thematic advantage.

The main flaw with the video is structural: the irrelevant encounter between Tempest and Winter adds nothing to the story and merely delays the devil's entrance until the third scene. But the two scenes with Ross and the dream sequence with Rahm and Wilde are hot stuff indeed, lifting this title far above the industry standard. It may not be perfect, but it's a surefire winner aming viewers who care for quality.
