Once again Chi Chi LaRue has fashioned a clever story centered on gay relationships: two lovers (Demien, Slater) partways due to a misunderstanding and are brought back together by the schemes of their friends. The idea is a solid one, but it does not achieve its full potential, in part because of the editing, in part because of the uneven performances. In fact, the performances contain a surprising reversal: Michael Parks, who is usually a fine actor, proves diffident and uninspired, while Demian, a newcomer who before this seemed only another pretty face, gives a memorable show, both in his solo and in his full-action scenes. The second star of the video is Tom Chandler, whose scene with Demian is the sexual and dramatic high point. All in all, a satisfying production that should have been even better.
