Always reliable, Buckshot’s long standing solo series comes through again in its eighth edition. This Minute Man starts a bit slow, with clone-next-door Joe Nyland delivering a charming but not overwhelming performance in a typical Buckshot scenario (stripping off his tux the morning after and taking a shower). Things heat up several degrees with a bodybuilding performance from the awesomely stacked Ed Dinakos. Then comes the debut of Jake Tanner, who can’t be real; this is the mega-marine of a million wet dreams. Everything about this guy is much, much larger than life. The only flaw with this segment is that there could be considerably more. After such a discovery, I was skeptical of being impressed with the sendoff, coverman Mike Timber in “The Big Tease,” but the segment lives up to its title, as Timber struts and flaunts and asks the naked question: “What, me camera-shy?”
Camerawork and music are excellent, as always. The Minute Man series, like other Buckshot productions, has earned viewer recognition and loyalty with consistently high-quality work.
