In the porn world, it's a rare occurrence when a strong story and scorching sex are given equal time in a video. More often than not, story is sacrificed to accommodate the sexual antics, as is expected. However, in Delta Productions' latest endeavor, The Apprentice, the scales are equally balanced and the result is a sexually-charged, highly-intelligent video that is filled with terrific performances.

Joe Landon is a beautiful young man thrown out of his house when his father discovers gay pornography in his room. Distraught, he heads to Hollywood to find a better life.

As he wanders the streets, a key falls out of the sky. He looks up and sees Scott Matthews standing on a balcony. Matthews call him up and, since he has nowhere else to go, Landon goes. Matthews offers some cash for sex and Landon takes the step that will change his life, he takes the money. What results is a terrific sexual encounter that has pretty boy Landon topping hunky Matthews, both sporting incredibly huge boners.

Chris Rick watches from another room. He's impressed with Landon and makes him an offer: Rock will take him under his wing, teaching him how to hustle. Landon, having nothing to lose, accepts the offer and the lessons begin. Two great solo encounters follow; the idea being that in order to know how to please someone else, one should know how to please himself.

Landon observes Rock and a client, Marco Antonio, going at it in another sexually explosive scene. Antonio and Rock have great chemistry and perform on a black bed in a black room, sucking and rimming each other with abandon. Antonio then spears Rock and both shoot terrific loads.

Teacher and pupil have lunch and notice a couple, Alex Carrington and Tony Cummings, conversing at a nearby table. Rock tells Landon to make up a fantasy involving them, testing his creative juices. So Landon dreams up a matador scenario with Carrington as the bullfighter. Carrington's accent (and some of the dialogue) is hokey, but when the clothing falls away, the two models perform admirably. Carrington fucks Cummings relentlessly with his big slab of uncut beef.

Superstitious Rock (with his penchant for tarot cards) realizes that he's falling in love with Landon, yet hides his feelings when it's time to send Landon out on his first trick. Matthews is there to help out and Landon professes his love for Rock, so Matthews sends him back. Steve O'Donnell and Joey Stevens are lover awaiting the arrival of their studs. Matthews enters, produces his massive meat and both guys devour it. In a scene that garners a pre-nom for Best Threesome, all three sport rock-hard boners and convey enthusiasm that is rare in threeways.

Landon returns home and confesses that, after all that Rock had taught him, he couldn't go through with it.

They begin to kiss, giving in to their fellings, and proceed to have one of the most highly-charged scene shot in a long time. After a lot of great kissing action and flip-flop sucks, Landon slides his own huge rod deep into Rock's bowels and fucks him gently. Both  men share incredible passion for the other, showing genuine emotion during the scene, which is frenzied yet romantic. A definite pre-nom for Best Sex Scene.

Fantastic performances all around, but Landon and Rock are the stand-outs. Landon is the epitome of the innocent handsome famboy. He has a very natural acting style, wonderful charisma and viewers will be rooting for him the minute he appears on screen. Rock exudes the sadness of an older player in a young player's world, knowing that it's time to give up the reins but desperately holding on as long as he can. Both performances gamer pre-noms: Landon for Best Actor and Rock as Best Supporting Actor.
