Based on the book Death in Venice, this Italian romp features some breathtaking videography. It also marks an increasingly rare appearance by Jake Andrews, a popular star who is on the brink of becoming a legend.
Director Kazan takes some risks when it comes to the sex, keeping the scenes direct and to the point. It is refreshing to be spared seeing models go through the paces of marathon, set-up sex scenes. But sometimes the action is too fleeting to make a good impact. The opening backroom scene is probably the hottest, as Andrews and super-hung mystery man Raffaello Brugi take turns stretching the hole of cute brunet Glauco.
