LOS ANGELES—The 27th Annual NightMoves Awards nominations have been revealed, and Wicked Pictures has received more than 15 major nominations, including Best Feature Production recognition for directors Brad Armstrong, Axel Braun and Mike Quasar.
“We’re thrilled to see our contract talent and adult industry collaborators nominated for such a wide range of projects,” said President and owner Steve Orenstein. “We strive to create the best movies we can and we appreciate NightMoves for noticing.”
The nominations earned by contract performer, writer, art director and filmmaker Brad Armstrong spoke to the eclectic nature of his talent. Released on the 10th anniversary of the groundbreaking original, his epic fantasy Fallen II: Angels & Demons was nominated for Best Feature Production, while Wicked Girl and sexual rights advocate Jessica Drake’s revelatory lead performance was heralded in the Best Actress category. Other Fallen 2 nominations for Armstrong include both Best Actor and Best Feature Director.
Parody king and gonzo virtuoso Axel Braun secured an impressive collection of nominations, including Best Non-Feature Director, Best Director Parody, and Best Comedy/Parody/Spoof Release, the latter two for his multi-award winning Wicked Comix blockbuster Deadpool XXX: An Axel Braun Parody. His black and white Cinemascope thriller The Possession of Mrs. Hyde—the iconoclastic Braun's first original drama in 15 years—received a trio of high profile nominations, including Best Feature Release and Best Feature Director, while Avi Love's masterful work in the titular role garnered Best Actress. Of his non-feature nominations, Inked 5 earned Best All Sex/Gonzo Release, Nylon 2 received Best Taboo/Fetish/Specialty Release, and Girlfest 2 garnered Best All-Girl Release.
Industry veteran and frequent Wicked contributor Mike Quasar's couples drama After Forever was recognized with a Best Feature Release nomination, while his deft handling of the material earned Best Feature Director honors. Among his non-feature nominations, the Wicked All-Sex title He Loves Me in Stockings & Heels #2 received best All Sex/Gonzo Release.
Finally, as befits a company adhering to the highest standards of beauty and excellence in eroticism, acting, and performance, Wicked Pictures received a Best Production Company nomination.
The 27th Annual NightMoves Awards Show will be October in Tampa, Fla. In a prepared statement, event organizers announced, “The NightMoves Awards were started in 1993 and are the third oldest continuously running adult awards show in the United States. The NightMoves Awards are an offshoot of NightMoves Magazine, owned and operated by Paul and Tracy Allen. The NightMoves Awards were the first to allow fans to select the winners, making it the original fan-based awards. They were also the first awards show to allow online voting.”
